Tweens: Ages 9-11
Utilizing our family system and experiential approach, we support tweens (ages 9-11) in a relational way, helping them build confidence, emotional awareness, and healthy connections. Through a collaborative approach, our individual coach works alongside our parent coach to empower families, strengthening relationships while providing the structure and guidance needed as their child transitions into adolescence.
What We Do
All services are individualized for every family, but will include:
Individual Coaching for the Tween
Parent Coaching
Family Sessions
Support Outside of Scheduled Sessions (phone, text, video, etc)
Collaboration with Other Providers (medical providers, school professionals, prior placement, tutors, other care providers)
Who We Serve
Many of our clients in this age range experience the following:
School anxiety
Social or general anxiety
Peer relationships
Learning difficulties
School avoidance or refusal
Technology overuse or misuse
Low self esteem
Low self confidence
Difficult family dynamics
How We Do It
Sessions include activity-based support at the home or in the community such as:
Art projects
Playing board games
Walk in the neighborhood
With time, leaving the home to do other activities such as getting boba, going to the playground, going to play ball in the local community
When Wonder Makes Sense
When traditional talk therapy isn’t the right fit, has stagnated, there is lack of engagement, or needs real world application
When family engagement would be helpful to the process
When needing more intensive services
After intensive outpatient programming (IOP)
Transitioning home from out of home placements (PHP, hospitalizations, Wilderness programs, Residential Treatment programs)
“Having a therapist for my son who met with him outside and office made a HUGE difference. Also, having the family support alongside was invaluable.”
